Now, it’s time to think about the topic of the upcoming speaking club. This week, we’re having a conversation about the past. What do I know about the past? There is a science named history, which studies it. And there are many different histories, such as the history of science, the history of the world, the history of this or that culture, philosophy, religion, art, literature etc. There are also personal histories recorded in many books and told throughout hundreds and thousands of years.

Let’s make up some questions. Is the past infinite or finite? In which way it differs from the future? Is the past predetermined? Which past events were exceptionally important according to your opinion? This last question may be used to build various sequences of events based on everyone’s unique experience.

Honestly, I’ve been thinking very little about the past during this week, and I have no big interest in discussing it at this very moment. I almost force myself to write.

Okay, I’d better go and read something on wikipedia. In addiction, I’m gonna look for thought-provoking quotes. One of the quotes which springs to mind when I think about the past is, “There are decades when nothing happens and there are weeks when decades happen.”
